Missionaries volunteer their time to help people build a better life through following Jesus Christ. When you talk with the missionaries, they can answer your questions personally and help you know how to find greater happiness. Is there a God?

Yes! God is your loving Father in Heaven. You lived with Him before you were born, and you can return to live with Him again someday. Missionaries can teach you about your relationship with God and help you find more meaning in life as you understand God’s plan for you.


Why am I here on earth?

Just like parents here on earth send their child out into the world to learn and grow, God sent us here to face challenges that will help us become more like Him. God knows and loves you perfectly. When you put your trust in Him, He will help you through the difficulties you face. If you follow God’s commandments, you can return to live with Him and with your family members together in joy and peace forever.


How can I get help from God?

God is your loving Heavenly Father, and He wants to hear from you. Missionaries can teach you how to talk with God through prayer and how to recognize the ways God answers your prayers.


Who is Jesus Christ?

When God sent us to earth to learn and grow, He knew all of us would make mistakes. So He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from sin and death.

Jesus Christ was born near Jerusalem more than 2,000 years ago. The Bible tells of the miracles He performed and His great teachings. But Jesus was more than a great teacher. He is the Savior of the world.

Jesus suffered and died for every person who ever lived. He suffered for our sins and pains in the Garden of Gethsemane and as He was hung on a cross. He died on the cross but rose from the dead on the third day. Because of the Savior’s sacrifice and His Resurrection from the dead, you can repent and be forgiven of your mistakes. You can live with God and your loved ones in the next life after you die.


How can I follow Jesus?

Following Jesus Christ means having faith in Him, repenting, being baptized into Christ’s Church by someone who has authority from God, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, and trying your best to follow God’s commandments throughout the rest of your life. Missionaries can teach you more about how to take these steps.


How can I make a difference in the world?

Jesus taught that the greatest commandment is to love God, and the second commandment is to love others just as much as we love ourselves. Loving and serving other people are amoung the most important things you can do in this life. Serving others, such as feeding the hungry or caring for the sick, is one way that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints follow Jesus. You can join in!


How can the scriptures help me?

Holy books of scripture, including the Bible and the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, are records of God’s dealings with His people and of Jesus’s teachings written by divinely inspired prophets and historians. Reading God’s word in the scriptures can help you find peace, guidance, and strength to meet life’s challenges. If you ask missionaries, they will help introduce you to these books.
