Angels proclaimed Jesus Christ’s birth because He would conquer sin and death, making it possible for us to repent, be forgiven, and have an eternal life of joy with God and our families.
People knew to look forward to the Savior’s coming because of prophets called by God to share His messages. Prophets like Isaiah wrote extensively about the promised Messiah and why the world should look forward with joy to His birth.
Isaiah 9:5
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
