After the angel Gabriel told Mary she would bear the Son of God, she had many everyday “angels” in her life who supported her through her experience. Her intended husband Joseph loyally stayed by her side. Her cousin Elizabeth rejoiced with her and gave her shelter during her pregnancy. Wise men brought gifts.
Following Jesus Christ’s example and worshipping Him at church can help you become part of a loving community of people who bear each other’s burdens.
Luke 1:41–42
“And it came to pass that, when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.”
Be Someone’s Angel
We need your light at church! Every person brings something unique that can help someone else in our church community. If you would like to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth with us at church, missionaries can help you know what to expect and save you a seat. If you were already planning on going to church, share the Savior’s light by inviting a friend!
When Elizabeth was on bed rest during a high–risk pregnancy, a simple sack lunch dropped off by a woman in her church community meant the world to her.
